A cosy Victorian cottage

Milliner’s Cottage is a two bedroom terrace house built in the 1840s and packed with charm and comfort. Located on a quiet street just a minute’s walk from the centre of town the cottage is ideally situated for shops, cafes, restaurants, the Arts Centre, pubs and more.

The open plan ground floor includes a living area with a wood burner, TV and two really comfy recliner sofas to help you relax. The cottage kitchen is large and well equipped while the stylish dining table with wheel-back chairs gives more than enough elbow room for a party of four! The bookshelves are stocked with a selection of books – we’d like to think there is something for everyone on those shelves, but if you have recommendations for a gap we have left then we’d love to hear them! The wifi is fast, free and gives a good signal throughout the property. The flat screen TV has iPlayer, All4 and ITVHub, and now also includes free Netflix.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms (a double and a twin). Each bed has a pocket-sprung mattress and crisp cotton bedding for a really comfortable night’s sleep. The family bathroom is well lit and features a full sized bath with a powerful fixed shower over.

The back door leads into the courtyard garden. This is a very private space, with a covered area for bikes and a deck that is the ideal spot for catching the evening sun.

If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet cottage with modern facilities given a Victorian twist then we think you will find Milliner’s Cottage a lovely place to book for your stay.

What some of our recent guests said...

* * * * * Sonya – Very special!

Thank you both for providing us with such a beautiful, well equipped home to spend our few days in Pocklington in. You have thought of everything, which has made for a very relaxing time and the finishing touches have made it feel really special. The toys and bookcase have been very well used by the children. We would definitely like to come back!

* * * * * Nicky and Gary – The cottage was truly lovely!

Wow!! The cottage was truly lovely. It was immaculate and had all that we needed. The whole stay was relaxing, and the place really is very quaint and special. It was a great place to be able to be central to our family wedding, and to visit York and Pocklington over a few days. Thanks for a fantastic stay, and for the yummy cookies (very kind!!). See you again soon!

* * * * * Mark and Em – This really is 5 stars!

This really is 5 stars! The fresh eggs, milk and cookies were a nice touch. Everything was clean. The beds were really comfortable and the shower was fantastic! It really did feel like a home from home and it was good to come back to. We and our kids all enjoyed our stay.

* * * * * Sue and Ivan – A perfect location…

Thank you so much for a very pleasant stay in your delightful cottage. So many small details have been so thoughtfully supplied – milk, fresh eggs in the fridge and much more. It was very easy to feel at home here. This is the perfect location for exploring the Wolds and Moors, Eastern Coast and York. We hate to leave!

* * * * * Kim – What a wonderful cottage!

What a wonderful cottage! Stayed for a weekend, the cottage is beautiful and so cosy. Great location. Stay was made even better by the lovely touches made by the owners… freshly laid eggs, milk and biscuits much appreciated. Will definitely return.

* * * * * Sandra – I wish all cottages were as well hosted!

We’ve had a very comfortable stay, thank you. The cottage is very clean and cosy with all of the facilities that you could wish for. We also appreciate your kindness in keeping in contact with us, and in particular keeping us a parking space in front of the cottage – fabulous service and I wish all holiday cottages were as well hosted! Thank you so much!

* * * * * Pauline and Michael – Lovely place for our grandchildren…

This was our first winter stay and the wood-burning stove was a treat and made the cottage a lovely place for our grandchildren after school. It is always the extra things that make this a wonderful place to stay: the vases and the sprig of bay looked super on the kitchen window sill. See you next time!

* * * * * Carol, Christine and Rita – Perfect stay in a perfect cottage!

A perfect stay in a perfect cottage. Everything you could possibly want for a very enjoyable stay. Your hospitality is amazing. The little touches made by you go above and beyond. Our second visit as three sisters enjoying quality time together. We will be back!

* * * * * Danielle, Alexandre and Rebecca – Spotlessly clean home!

We were greeted with such warmth by our hosts Helen and Patrick… a spotlessly clean home with a very welcoming feel to it. Pocklington is very pretty and we would love to visit again. Our Christmas was relaxing, peaceful and warming, especially with the blazing stove fire. Thank you to our hosts for making our Christmas a ‘special one’ and we hope to be back soon.

* * * * * Mark and Vickie – Has everything you could possibly need!
